Buenos Aires Herald - Other officials as
well
Jaime, Schiavi
summoned for questioning over Transport
irregularities
Former Transport Secretary Ricardo Jaime
and current Secretary Juan Pablo Schiavi
had been summoned for questioning over the
fact that they had allegedly received contributions
made by several businessmen who had paid
for their own private trips on rented airplanes.
Federal Judge Claudio Bonadío ordered
the measure and summoned both charged officials
for them to be questioned the first week
of March, according to judicial sources.
Judge Bonadío accuses current Transport
Secretary Juan Pablo Schiavi of having made
trips on flights paid by flight companies
the Secretary is supposed to be monitoring.
Other officials were also summoned to be
questioned for the case, such as former
APTA Flight Technicians Association Secretary
General Ricardo Cirielli and former Jaime's
advisor Manuel Vázquez.
The investigation, which took place between
2006 and 2009, shows that both officials
had apparently used paid flights, which
amounted to 500 thousand pesos.
According to sources, their payment had
been made by companies related to the Cirigliano
group. These companies were supposed to
be monitored by Jaime.
Schiavi, on the other hand, is accused
of having flown twice using these same companies.
